WHAT'S NEW

Wilkman Productions is developing a 90-minute documentary entitled "Performing the Past: The Ramona Outdoor Play, Historical Pageantry and American Identity."  Centering on the oldest and largest outdoor play in America, the Ramona Pageant, this documentary explores the interplay between fact and fiction, myth and history, and how communities have affected the perception of the past through performances of historical outdoor dramas, from the turn of the 19th century to today.  It also tells the story of how Native Americans and Latinos are beginning to play a more active role in creating a more inclusive American historical narrative.

Pre-production has begun on a new documentary series about the history, contents and influence of Liberty Magazine, the lively American periodical that published the work of many of the world's most famous writers and public figures from the 1920s to 1950, offering a rare and entertaining window into three amazing decades of American life and culture.

Chosen as one of the top ten television programs of 2010 by the Wall St. Journal and the NY Daily News and nominated for three Emmys (Best Non Fiction Series, Best Non Fiction Writing and Best Narrator), our seven-part series  Moguls and Movie Stars: A History of Hollywood, produced for Turner Classic Movies with Ostar Enterprises, chronicles the history of American motion pictures and the lives of pioneering movie makers from the 1890s to 1970. The DVD set is now available.  Click here for more information.
